I wouldn’t say that I’ve been searching all my life for a philosophy or religion that I can get behind. I tried some on for size at various points of my existence, some that I really loved for awhile, and some that I had to pick apart before it fit. But in the past several years, I’ve really come to discover how completely the law of attraction fits me. I don’t have to reject any part of it, it just seems to gel with what my insides already seem to believe. I don’t need to push myself into it, or force myself to repeat mantras in order to believe it. I wonder if this is how it was always supposed to be…to ultimately find a philosophy that feels like home.
Well, I had already believed in the idea of energy-follows-thought, but when I stumbled into the world of Esther & Jerry Hicks + Abraham, I just couldn’t believe how it all fell into place. I can look back on my life and see that I gravitated to the tenants of the law of attraction to some degree without knowing it. It now seems innate in me and I’m so happy to hear it in a really clear and satisfying way. Here’s how they teach it, in a nutshell:
1. Source Energy – We come forth into physical bodies to expand all that is and to deliberately co-create.
2. Contrasting Situations – We have negative experiences, which cause us to automatically desire something better.
3. Rockets of Desire – What we’ve been asking for are rockets of desire that land into our Vortex. They call it our vibrational escrow. All the stuff we desire is sitting in this vortex waiting for us to be the right match for its vibration.
4. Vibrational alignment – Our only concern should be to get into alignment with what’s in our vortex. This is done by getting happy and seeking joy and ultimately changing our vibration.
5. Emotions create vibration – Walk ourself up the emotional scale until we feel good/better so that we can align our vibration with what we desire.
6. Our only job is to Get Into The Vortex! Once we’re a vibrational match, from the vortex all our desires will quickly come to us.
I have spent the last decade trying to really get my mind on track; to eliminate the negative and sabotaging thoughts and replace them with healthier ones. At the time, I thought it was just healthier to think positively and I wanted to be kinder to myself. Now I’m aware of a deeper meaning to thinking better-feeling thoughts, and am convinced that it’s necessary to get what you want. So when I’m having a day where everything is going wrong, I can take that as a sign that my thoughts are in the wrong place and it gives me something to improve upon. Now, I acknowledge that the law of attraction can sound a bit woo-woo, especially the abraham-hicks channeling part. But if you believe that we’re all made up of energy, than it’s not a stretch to understand that like energies attract. And who doesn’t love a philosophy whose number one priority is about feeling JOY!
